Any time you are diving at 300 to 3000 metres/1000 to 10,000 feet above sea level, you're altitude diving. If you want to explore the hidden world of a mountain lake, the PADI Altitude Diver Specialty course is for you.

What you learn:

  • You’ll learn the effects of pressure at higher altitudes and how to adjust your dive plan accordingly. Whether you use a recreational dive planner table (RDPTM), an electronic eRDPTM or a dive computer, you’ll learn how plan and make a dive at high altitudes.
  • Altitude dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards
  • Recreational Dive Planner procedures for diving at altitude
  • Safety stops and emergency decompression procedures at altitude

How to sign up:

  • Call the shop to discuss dates and pay for the course 916-365-2410, or sign up for a date listed online.
  • This course requires eLearning and 2 open water dives done in one day in Lake Tahoe
  • Complete your eLearning in your own time, anytime before the dives.
  • Students also need to own their own Personal Gea. A dive computer is also required for this course.
  • Personal Gear Package: (Mask, Snorkel, Fins, Booties, Gloves) $50 credit towards this purchase for our students! These packages vary greatly, and should never be purchased online, as they need to be properly fitted by a Dive Professional, and need to be Life Support/Scuba Quality. We want to make sure your diving experience with us is #1! Any gear you purchase for your class that does not meet your needs or fit properly, will be exchanged for you, prior to your open water dives.
